Inserting 3D Models in PowerPoint


If you want to make your slideshows more visual, then why not insert some 3D Models. Microsoft provide a wide range of models that you can insert into your slides. 

To insert a 3D Model, go to the Insert tab and select the 3D Models icon. This will open the Online 3D Models window. In the search bar, type a description of what you are looking for and press enter. Once you have found the 3D model that you want, select it and click Insert. This will now insert the 3D Model into your slide.

How to create a Photo Album in PowerPoint


If you have several images that you want to show as a presentation, then why not create a Photo Album.

To create a Photo Album, firstly go to the Insert tab and select Photo Album on the Ribbon. This will then open the Photo Album window. Next, select File/Disk… and search your computer for the photos you want to include in your album. Then select them and click Insert. Your images will now be listed in the Photo Album window. 

Once you have inserted your images, you can then apply some advanced settings such as turning your images to black and white. 

You can also select how many images you want on a slide by selecting the picture layout dropdown. Then you can change the frame that is applied to your images.

If you want to apply a caption to your image, then tick the Caption Below All Pictures box. 

Once you are happy with all your options click create and PowerPoint will create your photo album for you.

How to apply an Action Button to an Object in PowerPoint


If you have embedded an object into your slide, then you will find that when you play your presentation and you try and open the object, it will move on to the next slide instead of opening. To overcome this issue, you must apply an Action Button to the object. 

To apply an Action Button to an object, firstly select the object and then go to the Insert tab. On the Ribbon select Action and this will open the Action Settings window. Make sure you are on the Mouse Click tab and select the Object Action option. This will then allow you to access the dropdown underneath it. In that dropdown you then need to select Open. Finally, click Ok and you will now be able to open the object whilst your presentation is playing.

How to insert a video from your PC into a PowerPoint slide


If you have a video on your PC that you want to play in your presentation, then why not insert it into a slide.

To insert a video, firstly go to the Insert tab and select Video. This will provide you with a dropdown where you need to select Video on my PC. The Insert Video window will open where you can now search for the video you want to insert. Once you’ve found the video click insert. This will now have placed your video into the slide.

How to insert an online video into PowerPoint


In PowerPoint you can insert a video from the internet. To insert an online video, firstly go to the Insert tab and select Video. This will provide you with a dropdown where you need to select Online Video. This will open the Insert Video window. In the YouTube search bar type in the title of the video you want to insert, and press Enter. Once you’ve found the video click insert. This will now have placed your video into the slide.

How to insert a hyperlink to somewhere in your presentation.


If you want to jump to a slide in your presentation then why not insert a hyperlink. Select the text that you want to use as your hyperlink and then go to the Insert tab and select Link. This will then open a window where you select Place in this Document and then choose the slide you want to jump to. Click Ok and you will then have a link to the chosen slide.

Making a shape 3D.


If you have inserted a shape into your presentation, then why not make it 3D. To do this, insert a shape and right click on it and select Format Shape. From the Format Shape menu select the Effects tab and use tools under 3-D Format to make your shape 3D.

If you want your information to be put across in a more visual way, why not insert a SmartArt graphic. Click the SmartArt icon on the Pallet and then choose which graphic you want to use. Once you’ve chosen a graphic, click Ok and it will place it into your slide.

When typing text into a SmartArt graphic, use the Text Pane. Just create a bulleted list and the text will automatically fill in the shapes.

Once you have inserted a chart into your presentation you then need to add your data. To do this, type your data into the Excel spreadsheet that opens when you insert a chart. Once you have inserted all your data, close the excel spreadsheet.

If you want to insert different symbols into your presentation just go to the Insert tab and select Symbol on the Ribbon. This will open a window where you can find the symbol you want. If you want to add additional information to your presentation, then why not insert a text box. Go to the insert tab and select text box. Then draw the text box onto your slide. You can now type your information into the text box.

How to embed an object in PowerPoint?


If you want to embed an existing file into a slide, go to the Insert tab and select Object. This will open a window, select Create from File and then click Browse. Find the file you want to embed and click OK. If you want the file to be displayed as icon then tick the Display as Icon box. Finally click Ok, this will now have embedded the chosen file into your slide.

How to insert a shape into a PowerPoint presentation?


If you want to add shapes such as arrows and speech bubbles, then follow these steps. Firstly, go to the Insert tab and select Shapes. Choose a shape from the dropdown, then left click and drag your mouse on the slide you want the shape inserting.

If you want your shape to stay in proportion then why not try holding down the Shift key as you draw the shape.

How to reshape a shape in a PowerPoint presentation?


If you want to reshape a shape in your presentation, then why not have a go at using the Edit Points tool. To find this tool select your shape and then go to the Drawing Tools tab. Once there, select Edit Shape and choose Edit Points from the dropdown. Your shape will then have black boxes around the edges. If you drag these black boxes it will edit your shape.
