How to reorder animations in PowerPoint


If you have applied multiple animations to a slide but don’t like the order that they play in, then you can reorder the animations. To reorder animations, go to the Animations tab and select Animation Pane on the Ribbon. This will then open the Animation Pane on the right-hand side. Next, select the animation you want to move and click on the up and down arrows to move it.

How to apply an entrance animation to your presentation.


If you want elements of your slide, such as text or pictures, to appear in a more dynamic way, then why not apply an entrance animation. Select the element you want to apply an animation too, and then go to the Animations tab and select one of the entrance animations. The entrance animations are in the green section.

How to apply an emphasis animation to your presentation.


If there is an element on your slide that you want to focus on, then how about applying an emphasis animation. Select the element you want to apply an animation too, and then go to the Animations tab and select one of the emphasis animations. The emphasis animations are in the yellow section.

If you want elements on your slide to disappear, then how about applying an exit animation. Select the element you want to apply an animation too, and then go to the Animations tab and select one of the exit animations. The exit animations are in the red section.

If you have applied an animation to an element in your slide, and you want to apply another animation to the same slide, then go to the Animations tab and select Add Animation. From the dropdown select the animation you want to add.

If you want an element on a slide to follow a path, then why not add a motion path. Select the element you want to move and then go to the Animations tab. From the dropdown select a Motion Path.

How to find more animations.


If you want more animation choices, then go to the animations dropdown and at the bottom select either More Entrance, Emphasis, Exit or Motion Effects depending on what kind of animation you want to apply. From the window that appears, select an animation.

How to apply a transition to a slide.


If you want to make moving to the next slide in your presentation more exciting, then why not apply a transition. Just click on the slide you want to apply a transition to and then go to the transitions tab and choose a transition from the ribbon. It will also give you a preview of what it will look like when you come to play your presentation.

How to apply an Animation to content in your presentation.


In PowerPoint you can apply animations to the content of your slides to make your slideshow more interesting. To do so, select the text that you want to apply an animation to and then go to the Animations tab. Once there, select an animation from the ribbon. How to insert presenter notes.


If you want prompt notes for your presentation, then insert them into the notes box. To do this, click on the notes icon on your status bar and then type your notes into the box.

How to use slides from a presentation in a new presentation?


If you have slides from an existing presentation that you want to use in a new presentation then try the Reuse Slides tool. 

To access the Reuse Slides tool, go to the Home tab and choose the bottom half of the New Slide icon. In the dropdown, click on Reuse Slides. In the Reuse Slides pane on the right-hand side of your screen browse for you presentation that contains the slides you want to reuse. Once you’ve found the correct presentation, select the slides that you want to reuse.

How to keep formatting on your reused slides?


If your reusing slides in PowerPoint and the formatting isn’t being pulled across, then tick the Keep Source Formatting check box in the Reuse Slides pane. This will keep the formatting on the slides when you pull them across to your new presentation.

How to insert slide numbers onto a slide?


If you want to insert slide numbers onto a slide then go to the Insert tab and select Slide Numbers. Once the Header and Footer window opens, tick the Slide Number box and then either select Apply to apply a slide number to the selected slide or if you want to apply slide numbers to all your slides, select Apply All.

To insert a new slide into your presentation, go to the Home tab and select the top half of the New Slide icon. This will place a new slide into your presentation.

If you have an existing slide in your presentation but want to change its layout, then how about using the Layout tool. To access this tool, go to the Home tab and select Layout. Once selected, choose the slide layout you want your existing slide to change to.

If you have edited the layout of your slide and want to put it back to its original layout, then go to the Home tab and select Reset. This will put the slide back to its original state.
